Protection against discrimination

25 NOVEMBRE 2024

On the occasion of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”, established by the United Nations General Assembly with resolution number 54/134 of December 17 1999, and identified on November 25th each year, the Politecnico di Milano launches the new MOOC "Gender-based violence: how to become an active bystander", a project of awareness-raising and action against gender-based violence with a particular focus on men as allies.

The Politecnico community can act as active bystanders in contexts where violence or harassment can be witnessed.

Awareness Event:

November 25th at 5:00 PM – Aula De Donato, Ed. 3 - Campus Leonardo

"We say stop." Reflections and critical contributions to counter violence against women.

The meeting, introduced by Mara Tanelli, Rector's Delegate for Diversity and Inclusion, represents an opportunity to continue the reflection, in a choral form, on violence against women, delving into its multiple manifestations through a plurality of disciplinary perspectives.

33 posters constitute the visual traces entrusted to experts and scholars who have accompanied them with their critical contributions, articulating a path between texts and images collected in the volume "We say stop. Reflections and critical contributions to counter violence against women".

The Casa dei Diritti will host the exhibition posters from November 22nd to December 2nd.

Exhibition hours: Mon.-Fri. from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

Female Leadership: reflections on connections with gender-based violence

Politecnico di Milano hosts the theatrical duo DilaliaDuett and brings to the stage a confrontation between women leaders - an imaginary conversation with queens from the past and contemporary figures to describe the challenges of female leadership. Yesterday as today, women are forced to face workplace obstacles arising from prejudices and microaggressions.

Following, a moment of discussion on the topic in a dialogue with Mara Tanelli, Rector's Delegate for Diversity and Inclusion; Benjamin Hanna, Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Economic Affairs Office, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Rome; Anna Grassano, General Manager of Beiersdorf for Italy, Greece, and Israel. Moderated by Paul Vanderbroeck, PhD Executive Coach.
