The Campus Leonardo Library was established in 2017 and is the richest library, with 4300 periodical titles and more than 205,000 volumes (mainly on architecture and engineering), 70,000 of which are lined up in the open shelves on two floors of the building, designed by Giò Ponti.

The Historical Library was established in 2018 with the intention of collecting, preserving, and enhancing the oldest and most valuable part of the Politecnico's library holdings, namely books published from around 1500 to 1899. These are volumes that constitute the foundations of Milanese and Lombard polytechnic culture, with a rich section of illustrated manuals for civil and industrial construction.

The Library is located on the La Masa Campus in building BL28, of which it occupies two floors that can also be reached by elevator. Oriented on the east-west axis, it offers huge windows on the north side with spectacular views of the Lombardy pre-Alps.
Opened in October 2016, the Library has 306 seats in the two reading rooms on floors 2 and 3, 8 seats in the magazine area on floor 2, and 11 informal relaxation seats on floor 3. The group study rooms have 10 and 4 seats respectively.

The Library is located on the Candiani Campus in Building B1, of which it occupies two floors that can also be reached by elevator. Spaces were reorganized during 2021, on floor 2 with an expansion of the Materio library, the integration of the Acorn and Steiner Archives and the addition of a relaxation area with hot and cold beverage dispensers, and on floor 3 with a new journal reading area, three group study rooms and an informal tiered area.
The library has 183 seats in the reading room, 32 seats in the magazine area and 20 seats in the Materio library. The group study rooms have 6 seats each.

Archivi Storici works for the description, preservation, enhancement and enrichment of archival sources of interest to the Politecnico di Milano, ensuring the inventory, reproduction and accessibility of archival collections. Organizes documentary exhibitions and promotes agreements with other Cultural Institutions and loans for exhibition purposes. Includes consultation room and exhibition space (ground floor) and Archives in Mostra (first floor).
