Eligibility
A Bachelor Degree in a scientific or technical discipline. A Committee will evaluate students with a different background case by case.
Mission and goals
The Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to a Master of Science) trains professionals able to tackle the complexity of mobility systems and the interaction of the critical issues concerning safety, technology, management, ethics and strategical aspects of mobility systems and urban development. The programme covers the following main topics:
- Integrated mobility systems
- Mobility and urban development scenarios
- Business and financial analytics
- Evolution of vehicle technology
- Asset management and maintenance
- Infomobility and support to integrated mobility
Subjects
1st YEAR
Project finance and business models, Electric systems for mobility, Data science and security for mobility, Rail vehicle dynamics and train track-interaction, Urban planning and Transport economics, Safety in mobility.
2nd YEAR
Mobility infrastructures and services, Energy and emissions in transportation systems, Ethics of transportation. Students can then choose between two tracks: Mobility Technologies and Mobility Systems.
Career opportunities
Graduates with a Laurea Magistrale in Mobility Engineering can deal through a multidisciplinary approach with complex mobility systems and the relationships among the different issues and in particular with safety problems. They can fulfill high rank positions in many enterprises and organizations, such as operators of public transport and sharing mobility, public administrations, transport industry (vehicles, services and logistics), agencies of management and control of mobility and safety of transport, both at national and international level.
Double degree
Students of the Laurea Magistrale programme in Mobility Engineering can apply to the EIT Urban Mobility, a unique programme in cooperation with leading European universities, industry, and cities.
EIT Urban Mobility is a two-year double degree programme with a network of universities in Europe, where students attend the first year at Polimi and the second year at another partner university, earning two degrees. More info at this link
