European Projects

Politecnico di Milano is actively engaged in several research programs provided by the European Commission. Politecnico’s research activity has a particular focus on EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, one of the most important funding schemes in matters of science and innovation. From 2007 until now, in the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, Politecnico has obtained excellent results in the prestigious ERC and MSCA subprograms.

Horizon Europe (2021-2027) 

358 funded projects, for a total of about 171,8 million euros, including:

  • 37 ERC
  • 51 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

The University has achieved excellent results in the prestigious sub-programmes of the European Commission, the European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), since 2007.

The University organizes the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowschip Master Class to support young researchers in the submission of competitive proposals.

Politecnico di Milano is the first University in Italy and the fifth in Europe for the number of funded Horizon Europe projects (Cordis, January 2024).
