Permanent and regular training

The Politecnico bases professional growth on the recognition and enhancement of its employees' skills and professionalism, in line with the organisation’s objectives, needs and well-being.

By designing, implementing and promoting permanent and rich training opportunities, from soft skills to compulsory formation, the Politecnico di Milano supports the Technical and Administrative Staff in consolidating their knowledge and skills, thus promoting professional development and the retention of qualified human resources. In line with the Italian Government’s new targets, the University is seizing all the opportunities that digital technologies offer in order to better cope with digitalisation.

Permanent and regular training is provided to the Technical and Administrative Staff with the aim of consolidating their skills and enabling them to align with organisational changes.

The courses are delivered by accredited providers and expert internal staff.

The developed themes are primarily: Administrative Management of Scientific Research Activities, Administrative Procedures, Front Office and User Relations, Accounting and Procurement, Intercultural Communication and Foreign Languages, Security, IT, Cyber security, Anti-corruption, Transparency and Privacy.

The University periodically collaborates with other bodeis and organisations to propose further training activities to the Technical and Administrative Staff.

Some initiatives are aimed at specific target groups, in order to improve teamwork or to support cultural change projects. These include: training for communities of practice (libraries, administration, communication, ICT, teaching, etc.), team building and training events for work groups and organisational structures, training for all staff on smart working to accompany expected cultural change.

The University dedicates specific training activities to Administrative and Technical Staff who hold responsibility positions, such as managers and supervisors.

The initiatives are geared towards expanding knowledge and providing work tools for a better and more effective role coverage.Some of the most important themes are: Leadership, Evaluation and Performance, Communication, Time management and Project management.

These projects include: individual coaching for skills improvement and specific role support initiatives for newly appointed managers.
