Off Campus Nolo

Il contesto

A vantage point on the changing city

Nolo is a neighbourhood involved by a renewal process triggered by a local community of proactive inhabitants, who over the years have implemented a vibrant network of initiatives, activities and projects. The district is currently affected by a series of urban transformations that involve the broader area between Loreto, Nolo and via Padova. The Off Campus space is housed within a landmark of the neighbourhood, the covered Municipal Marketplace in Viale Monza 54, an ideal observation point on the transformation of the city.

Topics

Social innovation of the local community

Off Campus Nolo is an observatory on regeneration and reactivation of neighbourhoods and promotes social innovation processes on a local community level. The currently active research projects and interventions operate on a dual front: on the one hand they focus on the Municipal Marketplace itself, on the other they involve the broader context between Nolo and via Padova. They focus mainly on some themes: networks and relationships, social innovation and proximity economies; circular economy (food, waste reduction and sustainable consumption models); quality of public space, accessibility and mobility; role of non-human actors who inhabit cities (more-than-human); common goods and tools for active participation/citizenship.

Collaborations
