Edvance: new portal revolutionising digital training in Italy

The first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to the country’s advanced digital culture

Publish date

The Edvance project, the first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to advanced digital culture in Italy, was developed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Mission 4 ‘Education and Research’ and is now celebrating a milestone with the official launch of the portal to access all MOOCs in the Edvance network.

This event is a crucial step for the project, not only in presenting its ambitions and achievements, but also in bringing together experts, practitioners and partners involved in promoting digital education. The new portal aims to be a central platform to facilitate access to advanced digital skills, with a focus on artificial intelligence, data management, digital sustainability and interdisciplinarity.

Through the portal, users can access over 200 free online courses, enhanced by microcredentials and open badges. The offer aims to support students, professors and workers in developing advanced digital skills within a digital ecosystem that unites training courses offered by the 17 partner academic institutions and numerous associates, coordinated by the Politecnico di Milano.

Training and digital tools go hand in hand. The Politecnico di Milano, the Edvance project coordinator, has been testing the possibilities introduced by teaching innovations, especially through artificial intelligence, which marks a genuine paradigm shift. With METID’s decades of expertise and collaboration with exceptional partners, we now present an offer that is unique nationwide in terms of both the number of courses and the strength of the content. This initiative promises to redefine the standards of digital education, opening new possibilities for the future of Italy’s social and economic fabric.

The project focuses on producing high-quality MOOCs and blended learning, integrating online and in-person education to redefine the standards of digital education.

With the use of artificial intelligence and integration with the humanities and creative disciplines, Edvance enriches teaching interaction and effectiveness, reducing drop-out rates and offering new resources for academic and professional paths.

Edvance promotes modular training, allowing students and workers to build custom paths. With microcredentials, users can accumulate specific skills that meet the needs of the job market and integrate them to obtain formal certifications.
