JRP Annual Meeting 2025

The Innovation District will host a space for deep-tech companies

Publish date

On June 19, the fourth edition of the JRP ANNUAL MEETING was held at the Bovisa Campus of Politecnico di Milano. This event is designed to showcase the results achieved by the collaboration between Politecnico di Milano and strategic industrial partners, but also an opportunity to discuss future challenges, in a world where innovation, entrepreneurship and competitiveness are of growing importance.

The Joint Research Platform (JRP) model represents an innovative form of collaboration between university and business, designed to address major global challenges through advanced scientific and technological research, enabled by medium- to long-term agreements that allow the Politecnico di Milano and industrial partners to build strategic and lasting relationships.

During the event, Prof. Daniele Rocchi, vice rector for technology transfer and corporate relations, emphasized the importance that the relationship between the University and businesses will play in the Innovation District - a strategic initiative that will be based in the expanded Bovisa Campus, designed to foster the birth and development of deep-tech (i.e. highly innovative) companies through the synergy between universities, businesses and institutions.

The work of the Innovation District will be addressed, in particular, in two directions:

Developing an entrepreneurial culture

The District will work to spread the culture of entrepreneurship starting with students, doctoral candidates and researchers, offering training programs, mentoring and concrete opportunities to experiment with business creation, with the aim of lower the average age of start-up founders and enhancing the innovative potential of the younger generation.

Creating an environment that supports entrepreneurial initiatives

The District intends to build an integrated and collaborative environment that supports all stages of entrepreneurial development - from the emergence of ideas through basic and applied research, to its development in laboratories, to its validation through prototypes or pre-industrial scale trials, to market entry - enhancing the role and contribution of all actors involved in this process, starting with the research teams of companies and partner institutions linked to the Politecnico.
