Descrizione dell'iniziativa
The workshop focuses on the activity of textile manipulation, starting from the recovery of existing garments, for the creation of stage outfits for the Drag Queens. The teaching activity is organized in collaboration with the PoliEdro student association of the Polytechnic of Milan and is aimed at enhancing and promoting the association's activities among students. The figure of the Drag Queen within the LGBTQIA community is highly regarded. With this workshop we want to analyze the most important part of the transformation of a Drag Queen: the dress and its great communication value.The dress is in fact a distinctive sign of a Drag: the style identifies her and ensures that she is recognized immediately.Therefore, the dress becomes the performer's instrument of identity both within the Drag context and towards a wider audience. The workshop is aimed at creating the outfits that the students of the PoliEdro association will wear during the variety event scheduled for spring 2025 (final event will be presented 2025, May 30th).
Objective: Understand and understand the value of clothing in the Drag world; acquire new skills; unite, involve and entertain the entire Polytechnic community.
