AMBIENTE, MOBILITÀ E CITTADINANZE
Within the framework of the 24th Esposizione Internazionale Triennale di Milano “Inequalities”, the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and CRAFT, Politecnico di Milano, present a collective reading and narration of inequalities from a territorial perspective, through a contribution structured around three thematic investigations. The different impacts of extreme climatic events and prolonged exposure to harmful health conditions, the varying opportunities for access to resources and limitations on mobility, and the lack of full citizenship rights due to processes of exclusion from housing and services are the three themes addressed by the DAStU working group at two different scales and using two different types of materials. On one hand, an immersive installation featuring three short films with testimonies from international experts takes stock of environmental issues, mobility/migration, and access to housing and services on a global scale. On the other hand, a model of the Milan area, accompanied by projections of maps and data, shows how these same issues manifest in this metropolitan context.
